This "one way view" is hard for me to comprehend...because life isn't the same for everyone. If my wife (and I know, it's VERY RARE) is pregnant and having the child could seriously endanger her life, that little baby is going bye bye. If you think that makes me a murderer, so be it. But, in my house, with my family, and my life...my wife is more important. And, as a libertarian, I don't want some POS politician telling me what kind of medical decisions my wife and I can make.catamount man wrote:a fetus grows into a human being we all know that. arms form, legs form, toes, eyes, heart, mind............abortion wipes this out. If something is growing, it's living. Yes, abortion is murder. I don't see any argument here. pro-choice people endorse it because, for the most part, the majority of pro-choice people believe in no God, believe that a woman is much better off without a man, the days of a sound family unit, one mother and one father are archaic and oppressive, and that nobody other than white conservatives should bear the brunt of responsibility while everybody else, gets to suck off of the gravy train. I'm sorry, the truth hurts.
Look, I'm not supporting "convenience" abortions and I will concede that Roe v. Wade was a bad decision, in that there's no "right to privacy." However, I don't think the government has the right to tell my family how we will handle medical procedures, especially when it comes to a life and death situation for my family.
I suppose Terri Schiavo was murdered too, if only the government could have intervened even more!

So intriguing to watch a bunch of men, physically incapable of being pregnant, hen peck each other over something they never personally have to worry about.

While I understand the issue with the Catholic church and contraception, there are many more that choose to be irresponsible and not take adequate prevention methods. Abortion is for the lazy and selfish.

If a woman wants to go have an abortion, then have at it.
Do you think that it is not possible to be against something on moral or ethical grounds, yet simultaneously of the mind that the government should not be in the business of prohibiting it? I don't like cock$uckers who burn the flag, but I don't think we should have a law that prevents cock$uckers from being cock$uckers.
There are plenty of things in this country that are perfectly legal that I do not agree with, but I don't call on the government to prohibit them just because I think they are repulsive. I just prefer to treat other people as I would have them treat me. In other words, leave me the fvck alone, and I'll leave you the fvck alone. I think it is personally pretty asinine that so many people of ALL political persuasions like to use the government as their personal bludgeon to shape behavior.

In that, I will never understand the Catholic Church's choice to be anti-contraception.
But then, there is much about churches (especially the Catholics) that I'll never understand.

I already told you. God does not abort babies. Over 50% of spontaneous abortions are due to genetic defects. If someone has an issue with spontaneous abortion, we now have testing that will pinpoint the genetic fault.D1B wrote:Poverty, suffering, lost potential, disempowerment and reliance on men and government, depression, loss of education and quality of life.... 9 months of discomfort, horrendous pain of child birth thanks to your fucking god...SeattleGriz wrote:

That is not God, that is either faulty DNA passed down through the lineage, or due to environmental factors that cause DNA damage.
As much as you try to paint God into a corner, I don't believe He interferes with our free will. What a petty God you portray. Believe in me or I shall kill your baby.

Re: Roe v Wade Anniversary
Well, if you look at the story of King David, he wept and prayed for days while his child was ill. When his child died, he stopped crying and carrying on, and it confused everyone. Finally someone asked him why he made such a big deal when his child was alive, only to act like nothing happened when he did die.D1B wrote:What happens to those fetuses?
King Davids response was that his child was in heaven, and therefore no reason to carry on anymore. While I can't point to any specific passage in regards to "proof" kids get a free pass, I always took that story to mean God "grandfathers" children into heaven.
I happen to believe life on Earth is all about us learning about the consequences of our choices. A fetus didn't even have a chance, so how could it be held accountable?
I wish I had a better answer than this, but that is always what I have believed. I also will say that I came to God later in life and didn't have anyone to "force" certain beliefs down my throat. I choose to believe that God is caring. What more could God ask of me other than treating others well and taking my lumps when I make stupid choices.

God has control over everything, but how does his manipulating your DNA bring you to accept Him as God? I have said it before. Forcing others to bow down to you is not free will, it is coercion. God wants you to choose on your own. Not make you choose Him.JayJ79 wrote:So God has no control over genetics?SeattleGriz wrote:I already told you. God does not abort babies. Articulate answer, SeattleGriz, but don't take the left-wing-nuts seriously. They don't really give a shit about abortion. They only bring it up to drive a wedge between social conservatives and libertarians.
