I have a question, I have family members that are an x-ray tech making 86K a year in Fresno and another that is a RN that makes over 100K a year. Since health care is being taken over by the government will they all take big pay cuts. I also have a couple of friends who are doctors, 1 in Australia. He said the residents make more there than in USA but the doctors here make a lot more than those in Australia. He's moving back to the US to make more money when he's finished his residency.

The RN is. The x-ray tech, I don't know. As for us, my wife is a teacher and I was a teacher but semi-retired to be a stay at home dad.
Her union dues are $1,100 a year which are allowed to be a write off at tax time. Mine are $57.

While I am embarrassed by the bloated entitlement wealth redistribution vehicle that the federal government has become, I am even more saddened and embarrassed by the electorate that allowed all this to happen. A friend of mine sent this along a couple of weeks ago and it is particularly appropriate the day after this debacle:

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama.
