Spartan Stadium was built in 1933 (3 years before Foreman), and also had a clamsell on the both sides. Interestingly, Spartan and Foreman held the exact same amout of people at 18,000 until Spartan stadium was expanded to 30,000 by tearing down one of the clamshells. I think this could be a VERY interesting case study if we were ever to expand Foreman Field. The similarities are uncanny.

Spartan Stadium clamshell is different from Foreman Field in that it is built into a hillside and not free standing like Foreman Field.

Thanks for that piece of info and the correction. I wish more stadiums were built with the clamshells...I think it's a beautiful design. I guess it doesn't really maximize the use of space though.

UHHHH NO! If anything it looks like Georgia Southern.
Original Wa-Griz construction in '86
Looks awfully **** similar to me. And note that I said it has the POTENTIAL to look exactly like Wa-Griz.
The orginal construction of Wash/Griz seated approximately 12,000. That is about the same as Davis I believe. Davis seems to be the more traditional bowl configuation with the curved stands. Wash/Griz is just a few feet from the field the entire length of the sidelines.

Old Washington Griz looks nothing like Davis-WTF are you guys talking about.
Griz has straight bleachers located right on the field and a steeper pitch. Davis has curved bleachers away from the field with a much softer incline. Davis and Georgia Southern look very simialr IMO.
What do you guys smoke on Montana-- the only simialrity is that the bleachers on each side are the same size.

WTF are you talking about douchebag?
That you, and others on this board, must be blind. There are more similarities between the 2 stadiums that I posted besides the bleachers being the same size.
