how about Foreman Field?
I'm a huge college football fan and I have yet to see a FBS stadium look like foreman field.

Re: EVERY FCS STADIUM HAS AN FBS TWIN!
I think I found a pretty good one for ODU:
Spartan Stadium was built in 1933 (3 years before Foreman), and also had a clamsell on the both sides. Interestingly, Spartan and Foreman held the exact same amout of people at 18,000 until Spartan stadium was expanded to 30,000 by tearing down one of the clamshells. I think this could be a VERY interesting case study if we were ever to expand Foreman Field. The similarities are uncanny.

Spartan Stadium clamshell is different from Foreman Field in that it is built into a hillside and not free standing like Foreman Field.∞∞∞ wrote:I think I found a pretty good one for ODU:

It's not FBS but UC Davis' stadium has the setup potential to be EXACTLY like Washington Grizzly.

UC Davis looks nothing like Washington-Grizzly.. note the curved stands that are far away from the field.Willie wrote:It's not FBS but UC Davis' stadium has the setup potential to be EXACTLY like Washington Grizzly.
Wash-Grizzly field also doesn't fry people alive like Aggie Stadium.

Re: EVERY FCS STADIUM HAS AN FBS TWIN!
Thanks for that piece of info and the correction. I wish more stadiums were built with the clamshells...I think it's a beautiful design. I guess it doesn't really maximize the use of space though.SloStang wrote:Spartan Stadium clamshell is different from Foreman Field in that it is built into a hillside and not free standing like Foreman Field.

UHHHH NO! If anything it looks like Georgia Southern.Willie wrote:It's not FBS but UC Davis' stadium has the setup potential to be EXACTLY like Washington Grizzly.
Re: EVERY FCS STADIUM HAS AN FBS TWIN!
Actually, add the endzones of WaGriz and add 15 more rows on UC-Davis's sidelines and you have Wa-Griz Southguinzone wrote:UHHHH NO! If anything it looks like Georgia Southern.Willie wrote:It's not FBS but UC Davis' stadium has the setup potential to be EXACTLY like Washington Grizzly.

If Georgia Southern added seats going to the endzone and UC Davis leveled the bowl at one end with a fieldhouse, they would be twins.

Original Wa-Griz construction in '86
Looks awfully fucking similar to me. And note that I said it has the POTENTIAL to look exactly like Wa-Griz.

Re: EVERY FCS STADIUM HAS AN FBS TWIN!
The orginal construction of Wash/Griz seated approximately 12,000. That is about the same as Davis I believe. Davis seems to be the more traditional bowl configuation with the curved stands. Wash/Griz is just a few feet from the field the entire length of the sidelines.Willie wrote:guinzone wrote: UHHHH NO! If anything it looks like Georgia Southern.

Well I wasn't talking exact dimensions and curvature. The two look awfully similar. UC Davis did their homework.

Davis is in the same model as the new wave of stadiums being pushed by designers to FCS teams.Willie wrote:Well I wasn't talking exact dimensions and curvature. The two look awfully similar. UC Davis did their homework.
Check out Albany's concept design - same exact thing.

Re: EVERY FCS STADIUM HAS AN FBS TWIN!
Old Washington Griz looks nothing like Davis-WTF are you guys talking about.
Griz has straight bleachers located right on the field and a steeper pitch. Davis has curved bleachers away from the field with a much softer incline. Davis and Georgia Southern look very simialr IMO.
What do you guys smoke on Montana-- the only simialrity is that the bleachers on each side are the same size.

That concept design looks a lot similar to Elon's Rhodes Stadium. The only difference is our away sideline is smaller.danefan wrote:Davis is in the same model as the new wave of stadiums being pushed by designers to FCS teams.Willie wrote:Well I wasn't talking exact dimensions and curvature. That you, and others on this board, must be blind. There are more similarities between the 2 stadiums that I posted besides the bleachers being the same size.Franks Tanks wrote:WTF are you talking about douchebag?Willie wrote: Holy **** some of you are both net deaf and **** blind.
