That looks like the water in Imperial Beach when a back current comes up from Tijuana, except that it's not oil. They have a little bit of a sewage problem south of the border.
Sad but true. And for those that live close to the border they have to deal with this sh!t every time it rains. The only saving grace is the currents move south so after a few days it drifts back over to their side. :ohno:

I've traveled most of the Pacific Coast of Mexico (Los Mochis to Puerto Escondido... admittedly not the Baja) and have not run into this at all in Mexico. Every beach has been safe to swim in and I have not seen floating feces or anything like that. Maybe just TJ? I dunno.

To what extent are they doing that? Are they waiting for the leak to be stopped before they hit it hard?

The reason I ask is I was wondering if there were politics involved that was slowing the movement of the clean up, or if both sides are able to put their petty shit aside and take care of it and worry about the politics of it later.

They are on top of it. We're lucky Obama is president and not some conk dipshit like W, McShithead or Sarah Palin.
Give me a fu*king break, he was not present 9 days into the thing, held a prompter session to bash private business and then sits back and lets BP do their thing.

This illegal born, Chicago scam artist is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to this country.

GOD I wish Bush could come back for 4 more.

TJ is a shithole of immense proportions. It is not a reflection (I hope) of mainland Mexico. The draw (when it was safer to go there in the 90s) was when I was in my early to mid-20s, they allowed the 18-20 year old California girls to drink there. :thumb: The population of TJ is approaching 2 million and they have terrible infrastructure. It is a completely different situation from the rest of Baja-Cali, which is pretty sparsely populated and, aside from some really shitty roads, pretty pleasant. I've been as far south as Ensenada by car and the whole trip is beautiful as soon as you get past TJ. I've also been to Cabo San Lucas by Aeromexico. No floating turds there. It's quite nice.

I've never been to the resorts of Mexico but I have been to other parts of Mexico that weren't set to attract tourism and I can tell you turds not only float in the water, but line the curbs of the sidewalks in places.

Haven't encountered this either....... And I've been off the tourist trail for 75% of my trip...

Want to be more specific on where you were? I've been from the north to the south... big cities to remote mountain villages. Yet to see one human turd in a public place. Much less lining the curb.

What exactly is Obama on top of? I have just seen BP flounder. Haven't seen our government do much in the way of trying to stop this problem.
Well, truth be told, government really has no idea how to stop it from leaking - what they do know how to do it to put pressure on the company involved to solve the problem. But currently there's no capability within government to address this situation from a technical/practical (i.e. come up with the solution) standpoint.

So we are to believe that the United States doesn't have the capability to plug a broken pipe? This is the same country that inspected a sunken Russian nuclear sub years before anyone even knew it was capable, and we don't have any technology to stop this?

The Administration is holding out.

The donkey show, I'm convinced, is a rumor started by club owners to draw in business. If you ask a TJ cabbie to take you to the donkey show, you'll invariably end up let off in front of a bar or strip club that does not have a donkey on the premises. Don't ask me how I know.
