Don't be so hard on the young folks. They've been subjected to endless commercials and advertisements which promote materialism, but they don't have enough life experience to know that there is virtually nothing for which you pay money that will actually make you happy -- that the things that truly make you happy are available to you for free. One answer I thought was interesting was... "Being successful in a high-paying career or profession is not important to you personally." The responses went the opposite direction than I would have guessed.

You are a young guy. Do something you truly enjoy. As for me, I'm grateful to have legal training and experience but I am also hopeful that within the next few years I can change my focus to use those skills in a way that more tangibly benefits people.
