GWB surprises troops at DFW airport

Post by HI54UNI »

Former President George W. Bush surprised U.S. Troops yesterday when he showed up to thank them for their service before they depart to Afghanistan.

The following pictures were posted on the USO Dallas/Fort Worth’s Facebook page.

If fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism. Ronald Reagan, 1975.

Interesting that there doesn't appear to be any press or media present. Maybe he actually cares about the troops instead of just using them for a photo op like most politicians.

He visited Ft Hood after the shootings too.

Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura secretly visited Fort Hood last night and spent "considerable time" consoling those who were wounded in Thursday's shooting spree, Fox News has learned.

The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News.

The couple was described as "deeply concerned" about military families on Fort Hood after Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire on soldiers and civilians, killing 13 and wounding 38.

He did this a lot when he would visit the troops at Walter Reed, no media show, no hoopla. "W" did and still does care about our troops. I know of an instance where he met a family when their father/husband was buried at Arlington. Bush met with the family for a long time, no secret service, no media, just gave them his time. :thumb:

These troop were coming home, not going.

DALLAS, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush took part in a Texas program welcoming service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, officials said.

They were among a crowd of friends and family greeting 145 service personnel arriving at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport Wednesday for two weeks R&R, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported.

He probably feels guilty when he thinks about how he pulled strings to get in the NG when it was his turn. :coffee:

While you can certainly argue and look poorly upon his tenure as President for a host of reasons, the one thing that almost always came across was that he certainly seemed like a very down to earth and decent person.

Agreed, in a Lennie from Of Mice and Men sort of way, GWB was a very nice guy.

Well, I was going more for a George Malley type character from "Phenomenon" without ever becoming super intelligent. Lennie's more of a homicidal imbecile and hence, a bit more perjorative. But that's just IMHO. :thumb:

This thread could have just as easily been titled "GWB disappoints Liberals at DFW airport".

Albeit not the type of great inspirational leader who would without regard for his own personal safety ( ) lead a contingent of conscripts up San Juan hill either.

LMAO at the Uber-conks on this thread still wanting to worship and slather slobber upon the extremely microscopic testicles of this deposed ex-president of the most least intelligence in our nations history.

Excuse me, but I just must..
