So you're saying they're all worthless *******?

Maybe we can agree on something.

Btw, I think I'm going to go with the worthless ******* that at least won't preach to me about how to live my life. :thumb:
Little George actually created 8 million jobs before the Dems took over Congress in 2006. NOT as in "saved or created," rather as in CREATED actual jobs. Not sayin' Georgie didn't have deep flaws, just sayin'. I don't really give a sh!t what O'Donnel says about masturbation, as long as she votes for lower taxes, less government, and lower spending.

All those jobs he created were all pizza delivery, you dumbazz. We need more taxes (esp at the local levels), we need MORE government because rich Conk fvcks in high finance and mortgages can't behave without regulation and we need to cut military spending, the biggest waste of tax dollars that ever was.

Delawareans, is the following true?

1. Two auto assembly plants (GM and Chrysler) closed in 2009.
2. Financial industry under attack (many firms’ HQs are in Wilmington).
3. Tourism down (Sussex County). Home building down statewide.
4. Cap-and-tax likely to adversely affect chemical industry.
5. Drug firms under attack from health care reform.
6. Military (Dover AFB) is really unloved by the Dems.

Probably, Mort, but it all started before Obama!

An auto plant just does not shut down overnight after a Monday staff meeting. Drug companies been under attack since the 20's. Dover AFB has been in the crosshairs since Bush One. Financial industry fvcked us royally and started this mess, Puffy. I could go on and on, you headline-only reading Conk stuffed pig.

Like I said - Box Elder County JUCO in Tremonton has adult civics refreshers and you need to attend.

1) True. And UD bought the Chrysler plant...a move that will strengthen UD and the Newark area. Fisker bought the GM plant and is building a hybrid. :thumb:
2) The financial industry needed some reform. They will survive.
3) Tourism...and homebuilding down? Yee-ha! The beauty of Delaware was the fact that it still had open land. Now it is starting to look like North Jersey.
4) Cap and Tax.
5) Not concerned about the drug firms...people need to stop reaching for a pill everytime they feel a twinge. :coffee:
6) DAFB was kept alive by the fact that we had 3 long term senior politicians sucking money from Washington to keep it alive. However, the last time I checked, DE got less federal money than they pay...so screw the Feds. Roth lost. Biden's moved up. Castle's now gone. No one left to protect DAFB. Here comes another mall.

1. Two closed. One was bought by UD to raise and turn into a technology campus and the other was bought by Fisker Automotive to start building electric automobiles.
2. The biggie was MBNA being taken over by BofA. Lots of jobs lost in the financial industry for sure.
3. Not correct. Tourism way up in Sussex County this year. A banner year for tourism. Home building is down statewide, sort of like it is everywhere. It's hard to top a bubble.
4. I really can't speak to that issue, so I won't pretend.
5. Under attack in what way?
6. Not correct at all; in fact WAY off. Carper, Biden, and the Governors have been highly supportive of Dover AFB. Dover AFB has never been a BRAC casualty in any round and has absorbed many BRAC'ed units from surrounding states, particularly NJ. The base infrastructure has been boosted significantly (and I would know, since I was contracting officer on several multi-million dollar construction projects on base when I worked there from 2001 - 2006). We built a new aerial port (making DoDs largest even larger), a new mortuary, a new fuel cell dock facility, and three new entrance gates complete with all the modern threat detection equipment and entry barriers just while I was there. They're currently building a new fitness center (believe me when I say it will be a Taj Majal among fitness centers) which I can't wait to use, a new auto hobby shop, and a new outdoor recreation center. They just recently completed a new Class 7 store and a huge gas station with about 16 islands. They just absorbed two new squadrons of C-17s from Charleston in the past couple of years and are still growing. That base is absolutely BOOMING with the full support of the local Democrat contingent.

MBNA owned Wilmington, in many ways supplanting DuPont as the company synonymous with the city. They built and built like you wouldn't believe from Newark to Wilmington to Dover. You'd have been hard pressed to find a northern Delawarean that didn't have a close friend or family member working for MBNA by the mid-90s. It was a major blow when they went under. Suffice to say, there is no shortage of office space right now in New Castle County.

Yet another blow not mentioned was the closing of the Valero refinery in Delaware City. I believe it was recently announced that there was a new buyer and the refinery may be restarted, but I haven't been following closely. I have mixed feelings about that one. While I'd like to keep the jobs, everyone must admit that the site has had one environmental problem after another. We're not talking little stuff either. We're talking tanks of sulfuric acid exploding and the man working on it literally melting with no remains found, toxic liquids in the tens of thousands of gallons spilled over the containment areas into the Delaware River, and far to frequent airborn toxic releases.

On a smaller scale, Dover has taken significant hits due to the outsourcing of the former #1 employer Playtex. My dad was given the boot from Playtex with 40 years service (accumulated both before and after his tour in Vietnam) when his division was packed and sent to Malaysia. That was a smack in the face. :ohno:

I certainly get it, kalm. I grew up in the Bible belt and never cared for the preachiness of my Baptist neighbors, but the hypocrisy of the left on this issue is infinite.

If O'Donnel is smart, she will indeed keep her religiosity close to the vest and stay strictly on a jobs, smaller government and economic growth message. Period.

But if she decides she wants to tell me something about masturbation, then I will be from Missouri. She will have to show me. She is actually cute in a Gidget kind of way.

In the meantime I recommend voting for a dead dog over voting for any Democrat.
And that's the difference between you and me. I have and will vote for a Republican if they show any signs of thinking on their own. Face it both party's suck, the conks just do a better job with the hypocrisy and preachiness.

The funny thing is, the wingnuts like O'donnell, can't hide their irrationality. The spooky socioneostalinisticprogressivecommiepinkoliberals relegate your type to consipiracy theorists. Very clever no?

Question, how many viable senatorial candidates do the socialist, communist, or progressive parties currently have running? :thumb:

"...don't count O'Donnell out," says Dick Morris.

"She is the real thing: a conservative, small-government devotee whose advocacy of low taxes is sincere and heartfelt. Members of the national Republican establishment were stupid and shortsighted in the negatives they threw at her during the primary. Now they will have to eat their words at great financial and political cost.

But, in a way, their obduracy gives O'Donnell a great opportunity to run as the anti-establishment candidate, putting a plague on the houses of both parties and calling attention to the corruption of each.

By separating herself from the Washington Republicans, she is able to embrace the values of small government and low taxes without doubt about the depth of her commitment.

She is free of party labels and can luxuriate in that liberty...."

Sure was. Instead of a boot, which they would have had to go out and purchase, they could have given him a bra or a bottle as a parting gift and given him the money spent on the boot.

MBNA did grow to be the #1 employer in the state. Going further, many of their former employees spun off to help build Juniper and First USA while others helped expand the rest of the credit card giants around town. BOA did cut a lot of jobs when they first bought Fleet, and then cut more when they bought MBNA. They screwed Delaware out of hundreds of thousands of dollars when they got financial incentives to not cut jobs...and then went and cut jobs anyway with some creative accounting. Did the same thing up in New England...and litterally laughed (I was in some of the meetings) at the stupidity of the polticians...everyone was throwing money at BOA.

As far as the refinery goes...I'd love to have it gone. 400-500 jobs aren't worth what they've done to the area. :ohno:
