Maybe the Rangers bullpen could use him.Willie wrote:No, there isn't a guarantee, but it's highly likely. They need to just throw Burnett out to the wolves.

He's wasn't too excited about pitching in the Texas heat to begin with.BlueHen86 wrote:

He can only pitch twice in this series, no sense in using him on short rest when they can get two starts out of him on regular rest.Willie wrote:Still think they should have thrown Andy today. And after last night, I'm surprised Texas didn't throw Lee today to help out.

This has been discussed all week in the national media that Texas wants to start Lee in the first game at Yankee Stadium, to give the Rangers their best chance at a win in New York.Willie wrote:Still think they should have thrown Andy today. I had to go back to ESPN to double check the game I watched to make sure the Rangers did win.JoltinJoe wrote:Another day, another comeback. The Rangers are gluttons for punishment.

Re: ALCS
Game 3's are normally pivotal, but tonight's game probably even more so. It's hard to see the team winning tonight not winning the pennant - if the Yanks beat Lee, they will have slayed their biggest threat and will be sitting pretty with just two more wins to go and may not even have to see Lee again. But if the Rangers win, all of a sudden AJ Burnett is pitching Game 4 trying to avoid the 3-1 hole. And even if they go with Sabbathia in Game 4, then either Burnett pitches Game 5 or Hughes goes on short rest as well. Either way the Yanks really start to scramble. I think tonight determines the AL pennant.

I agree with you to an extent. Tonights game is pivotal! I think the Rangers want to win with Lee tonight, but at the least, their main goal is to pick up a win in NY so that there is at least a game 6 in Arlington. Even if Lee doesn't win, are the Yankees (fans) confident that AJ Burnett can get a win? To me it doesn't matter which one the Rangers win, as long as they pick up one to swing the homefield back to Texas.GannonFan wrote:Game 3's are normally pivotal, but tonight's game probably even more so. Why they have Burnett listed as a probable Tuesday starter is beyond me. They announced before the playoffs that he wouldn't pitch in the postseason after his debacle of a year.FWJack wrote:I agree with you to an extent. Tonights game is pivotal! The Yankees are only using Sabathia, Hughes and Pettitte for starters.

What to do for Yankee fans in the OF when your team is losing 8-0? Throw beer bottles at the Rangers bullpen guys.
