As usual, you miss the point. Who gives a fuck about NASCAR? The feds have about as much business sponsoring NASCAR as they do in any of those other businesses.

And ALL of those things have a net negative on society, Amtrak and the post office are running billions in the red while private entities like FedEx and UPS are making billions doing the same thing at a cheaper price. Fannie and Freddie? Yeah we saw very well what happens when the government gives homes to people who aren't able to afford them, bankruptcy and untold hundreds of billions in bailouts. Next time, try renting. Etc. Etc. Etc...

You gotta do better than that, Travis.... :ohno:

Because of a government controlled monopoly you can't, but you can send a one ounce package from Bangor, ME to San Diego overnight cheaper and more reliably than the USPS.

More taxpayer financed motorsports. 20M from the National Guard and 1.6M from the US Air Force.

http://www.nesn.com/2011/02/amendment-t ... -down.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We're up to a grand total of roughly 41.6M

These dickheads in the house get their panties all wadded up over 5M to NPR but turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to over 40M taxpayer dollars in motorsports spending.

cool.

In an indirect way this shows not ALL NASCAR fans are in the south. Also, in an indirect way it shows 7 Southeastern states hold 44% of all races while representing just 14% of total U.S. states.

I never said all fans are in the south, but the south are where a majorty of the fans are, especially the diehards... and I would say a super majority of NASCAR fans vote republican.

The fact that our Armed forces have an advertising budget is ridiculous (Period)
I get taxed to pay for an advertisement

Fuck me... :ohno:

According to the Department of Defense's budget materials on their website, the combined military recruitment and advertising budget is $1,407,100,000 ($1.4 billion). Here is a break down by branch of the military:
ARMY $854,146,000
NAVY $297,141,000
MARINE CORPS $123,465,000
AIR FORCE $132,349,000

Now that is a FUCKING crime right there... that is shoveling money into a fire pit if ever there was

Military should be viewed no differently than any other government unit in these times of limited funds and short bugets. If they can't proove a positive return to the taxpayer for the investment we trust them with, cut their nuts off.

That approach would distinguish you as the only unemployed Mensa member in your small, central Illinois shit hole of a town.

Where was this feigned outrage when Chrysler (who is in receivership to the federal government) spent almost $9 Million of taxpayer money on a single (1) Super Bowl ad?

this is absurd.

the point of USPS isn't to be profitable. the whole point of USPS... the reason it exists - is to provide mail service to ALL Americans. do you really think UPS or FedEx would provide 6 days a week mail service to every address in America? of course not. USPS exists because such a thing is in the national interest - and private industry will not do it (largely BECAUSE it's not profitable)

as for cheaper? my ass. 44 cents for a first class letter--- the cheapest you can send anything ups ground for is like $3.50...

Fiat can spend their $$ however they want to. If they want to advertise crappy cars that no body wants to buy, so be it. I just want to finally see some tits in one of those godaddy ads. THAT would make a great super bowl ad.
