Our running game has been very good this season and now we have mobile QB who can throw. Essington is the biggest surprise this season. I wish we had started him against UTEP or Brown. Coulter was injured in June and continued to play maybe at 75-80 % early on. He is a tough kid with smarts -on his way to Med School in the spring.
The SBU - Liberty matchup couldn't have been scripted better .

Question, while I like to believe Liberty will in fact win the Big South would the Big South get two teams in if Liberty loses to SBU?

Anyway does the Big South not have an autobid? Because if SBU beats Liberty and gets the Autobid, I'd like to believe two teams from the BSC would get in....

The Big South does have an autobid and itll be the first time someone other than CCU will be going to the show. With Stony Brook and LU winning today, no matter what happens next week, the game on Long Island will be for the automatic bid.

As far as two Big South teams getting in, itd take some real crazy goings on in the next couple weeks for a scenario where Stony Brook and Liberty BOTH get into the playoffs

Yeah but in 2009 SBU ran for 248 yards and 4 td's against Liberty. I haven't seen anyone shut down Stony Brook's running game all season which was not the case last year. Stony Brook has even ran the ball effectively when they have abandoned the pass all together (Lafayette where Coulter was playing on a torn acl and Coastal in the nor'easter). It has honestly been remarkable how effective Stony Brook has been running the ball regardless of how many players opposing teams put in the box. I would be shocked to see Stony Brook put up running numbers similar to those from Lynchburg last year.

But Stony Brook still has two more games before the 19th...

So what you're saying is that 2009 stats are more germane to this month's game than 2010 stats?

The last two Liberty games have not been showing much of the team. But again, Liberty has two weeks off to get their game together!!! I know they will come out hard after that Bye week. It will be a good deserved break for the Flames who have played all season long without rest.

TTL, I also see this game being fairly close and coming down to who makes fewer mistakes/TOs. I also feel we will be able to limit their run game with Maysonette and force them to throw more. I think that will be Liberty and I say 38/28 LU until I change my mind on the score.

As I said, I dont have a problem admitting that my predictions are wrong...but it seems with you on the other hand, that getting you to admit youre wrong is about on par with pulling teeth. If you admitted that you were wrong, and gave props when they were due (and not backhanded ones either with qualifications or some other sort of thing), I wouldnt say anything.

76-28 can't be justified solely on six TO and there was definitely a whole lot more that came from SB for such outcome to happen.

I don't think he pointed out the 6 turnovers to suggest that that's the only reason Stony Brook won. To hang up 76 points is kind of obnoxious and only happened because Gardner Webb fell apart in the 4th quarter turning the ball over 4 times and giving up something like 150 yards rushing while Stony Brook was trying to run out the clock. I think it was an impressive performance by Stony Brook, but the only reason Stony Brook or any team in that kind of situation would put that many points is if the opposing team has a melt down like GW.
