Detroit just won their 17th straight at home, and currently sit attop the western conference (hell, of all the NHL) at 33-15-1 with 67 points....Slow start, but damn they look good right now.

Lots of streaky teams this year. Boston had a tremendous Stanley Cup hangover to start the season and now are on top of the East. Pens look like world beaters one month, then take a two week break, then come back to win 6-7 in a row. Can't figure anyone out this year. Heck, even the Ducks are making a small push lately. :|

Here's a question, before he backed out this morning Ovechkin was supposed to be in the All-Star Game this weekend, problem was he just got suspended for 3 games for a charging play on Sunday vs the Pens.

Has a "suspended player" ever participated in an all-star game in the NHL/NBA/MLB? I couldn't think of one this morning before he bowed out....

I can't think of anyone worthy of AS status in the other sports being suspended for in-game transgressions. :|
