Tony Stewart wins the first Duel - Danica Patrick hit the wall hard in the last lap. Welcome to NASCAR godaddy girl.

No way this guy is really black.......93henfan wrote:That was an impressive performance by Kyle Busch last night in the Budweiser Shootout. He survived several spins, including an intentional from Jeff Gordon, and still, with no drafting help, perfectly timed a pass coming in to the tri-oval to beat Jimmie Johnson by a bumper.
I'm not a Kyle Busch fan, but mad props on that race.![]()
Also, kudos to NASCAR for getting the superspeedway package back to competitive racing. That two-car draft from last year was not very entertaining.

That was a hard lick she took. She's probably never been banged that hard before.bluehenbillk wrote:Tony Stewart wins the first Duel - Danica Patrick hit the wall hard in the last lap. Welcome to NASCAR godaddy girl.
It was interesting to see her hold her hands up in the air like that. I'd never seen a driver do that before impact. Heard Tony Stewart say they do that in open wheel racing because the steering wheel will break your thumbs or wrists since they don't have power steering.

Of the wrecks I have watched, they all seem to have it drilled into their heads to let go of the wheel. I bet it would hurt like a bitch even if it didn't break something if you didn't.89Hen wrote:That was a hard lick she took. Re: NASCAR 2012
For what it's worth Danica wrecks (her fault or not) before lap 100 today and my dislike and disdain for Jeff Gordon has grown exponentially over the years. Miserable weasel!
Ah, that feels better.

Danica has wrecked in 11 of her 26 Nationwide starts.......

When is this fucking race going to start??!! I guess it is like the Super Bowl where there is 3 hours of coverage before the race.

The scheduled start was 1:30pm EST. I always check Yahoo Sports for actual start times, because Fox and NASCAR.com keep that guarded closely.grizzaholic wrote:When is this fucking race going to start??!! I guess it is like the Super Bowl where there is 3 hours of coverage before the race.

I know. Looks like it may turn into a night race. If it takes 2.5 hours to dry the track, and it is still raining, it could be a late one. FUCK the NBA game tonight.93henfan wrote:The scheduled start was 1:30pm EST. Just checked radar on weather.com and there's a line of rain all the way out in the Gulf to south of New Orleans that looks to be headed for Daytona all day.grizzaholic wrote:I know. Re: NASCAR 2012
Well fuck. I have a pork loin and an Elk loin in the crock pot and had plans of sitting around today drinking beer and eating good food. Now that is shot in the ass. Fucking windy again today so shooting won't be as fun. FUCK ME. Guess I can go reload some shit. I blame this on YOU.93henfan wrote:Just checked radar on weather.com and there's a line of rain all the way out in the Gulf to south of New Orleans that looks to be headed for Daytona all day.grizzaholic wrote:

Sorry. No smoking while reloading. It is a rule or something.93henfan wrote:Make sure you have a nice cigar while you're measuring your powder.grizzaholic wrote:Guess I can go reload some shit. I blame this on YOU.
(not sure smoking could ignite smokeless powder anyways, black powder sure)
