Why do I have to explain this? I follow women's AMERICAN football for the most part. I never followed THIS league, and I haven't even followed the USWNT since Brandi Chastain retired.

It's sad, but I have nothing to do with it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if MLS followed suit. Soccer has a national following at the sub-HS level ONLY.

Needless to say if this sport were in another country this story would not have made headlines again soccer is popular everywhere but in the USA.

You should be. It's been expanding steadily since its inception, and many teams outdraw MLB teams. :nod:
It may always be a niche sport compared to the big 4, but soccer isn't going anywhere.
