An overstatement in my opinion. In 1998 #16 Harvard beat #1 Stanford on Stanford's home court. The only time a #16 has beaten a #1, that is definitely a bigger upset than Ball St over Tennessee IMHO.

39-0 with every win by double digits. This UConn team may not be the greatest of all time, but this was the most dominant season of all time.

Some of the reasons why the UT upset might be considered bigger:

UT had never been knocked out in the first two rounds
UT has a much more legendary program
Stanford had lost their top two players to injuries in the days before the game, and without them, was not that good of a team.
