Got a good laugh out of it

Focus on the Family made 34 specific, detailed predictions about what would happen in “Obama’s America” if he got elected 4 years ago...
They came up 1-for-34.

"Re-reading the Focus letter four years later, what strikes me most — besides how utterly wrong they are about everything — is how parochial their imagination is when attempting to envision a political dystopia. The horrors they predict are almost all narrowly targeted at and tailored toward them. I think that anybody who attempts to make specific predictions about the future is likely to be mostly wrong on specifics. But I do think that the impression created about the general direction of the country is correct. For example: There is no question that that the Obama Administration has been hostile to the coal industry. I also believe that gasoline would be cheaper per gallon right now if Obama had not been elected; especially if we could have gotten Democrats in general out of the way.

The Bible says that if there is going to be prophesy from God, it will come true. This was in place to prevent charlatans from using God as the source of a (false) prophecy when He wasn't. That was the litmus test. If a prophecy was false, it wasn't from God.

In the old testament, there were actual prophets that conveyed God's Word. These prophets would obviously hold great influence over what God's people were to do with their lives. God told them that if a prophesy didn't come true, it was because it wasn't from Him and helped to ferret out the false prophets.
