And if you want to know why he doesn't belong in this discussion, look at the giant numbers on his fuckin' jersey.

Cunningham didn't wear the #12 his entire career but he was introduced into this thread by me but no one objected.

Fouts is in the HOF. Hadl OUGHT to be. Humphries was a one-hit wonder who will never SNIFF Canton. He just got lucky enough to "turn right at the stoplight" in Pittsburgh before getting blasted in Miami....

That one great season he had in Washington SHOULD have led to great things; I'm still not sure why he disappeared after that. His second quarter of that Super Bowl will probably never be duplicated. Cunningham was a triple threat back for many years; if only he could have found a consistently good team to be a part of....
Williams ,also had the "pleasure"of dealing with a sleazy owner in Hugh Culverhouse ,that screwed him over as a rookie and a FIRST ROUND Selection no less. The management ,stipulated that if he didn't except the contract, that was given to him they would force him to sit for 4 yrs and ,watch someone else do his job that person would have been Steve Spurrier I believe. The money, they gave him was worthy of a FOURTH ROUND draft pick!! I forgot where I read this but he wrote a book called " QUARTERBLACK"after he retired from the NFL.I think Williams ,said that he wanted to rest up ,then come back but Joe Gibbs wanted him back immediately.Cunningham wasn't immune to the problems of race himself. When ppl in Philly found out he was going to replace Ron Jaworski they called into the offices of the Eagles ,to ask why was Jaworski being replaced with a black QB.I think this was mentioned in the article written, about him the first time he made the cover of Sports Illustrated or The Sporting News.
I'll just say, knowing the REAL Doug Williams, he deserves everything that happens to him :coffee:

Don't get me wrong, SD. I loved every minute of what the Bolts did to the Steelers that night. And Hacksaw's call at the end of the game was priceless, even if I can't stand him as a talk show host. I just miss Fouts. He was about as successful as anyone could be when collared with a lousy defense.

Herber to Hutson was the first great pass/catch combo in NFL annuals.

Hey as stated before when he first took over the reins at Grambling he wanted to update the facilities but the administration said no due to a lack of money at the time so he left and took a job in Tampa Bay's management.

The Bengals were the only team thanks to Sam Wyche that gave the Niners problems in their five SB trips everyone else they blew the opposition out.
