John Mayberry becomes the first player in ML history to hit two extra-inning HRs of which one was a walk-off grand slam! :thumb:

Now let's see if Cole can get win #2 this afternoon. :coffee:

Cole does get win #2 with 11 K's and the Phils get back to .500 for the first time since April 14th.

And the Phils pass the hapless Nats & move int 2nd place. 7 road games next with Brewers & Twins - need to have winning record there.

5 in a row now with Lee going tonight. Brewers look to be asleep right now, don't wake them up!! Call me crazy but I like Michael Young in the leadoff spot - something he's done before. Higher OBP than J-Roll or Revere there.

Well, 3 straight losses to Old Milwaukee wrapped up the weekend series. The worst one was Lee blowing the 4-0 lead on Friday. :ohno:

Cliff Lee is dangerous when holding a 4-run lead.

Just reiterating the fact the Phils will be sellers.

Is Ryan Howard tradeable? Even if we eat half his salary would someone take him?? American League DH??

Another two-game win streak! What teases these guys are.

How many more years do we have to pay Howard to hit singles?

Amaro may as well solidify his tenure as the man who threw away the Phils' future. Has anyone ever depleted a team's entire promising farm system in such a short amount of time?

Look ma, I traded away the entire farm system and all I have to show for it is a bunch of $20M/year contracts on the DL and a World Series loss to the Yankees! :thumb:
Spoiler: show
Disclaimer: I was as excited as everyone else when we got Halladay, Lee, and Oswalt, but at the end of the day, they won nothing here.

Well that's maybe half-true. Yes, Amaro traded away many of the Phils top prospects over the past few years not named Dom Brown, BUT, rattle off any of those prospects that are doing quite well in their new surroundings please...it's a short list.

On the other hand, the Phillies haven't 1) rebuilt their farm system & 2)Amaro has made poor decisons on major league talent to fill out the roster. Look at the Yankees & Red Sox who have rebuilt themselves are withstood injuries & are in a much more competitive state than the Phils currently.

I'm OK with what Amaro tried to do. If he had won one more Series after Gillick handed him the keys to the Ferrari, all would have been well.

Nice win last night, with a rare dinger by Howard and a walkoff hit by Brown offsetting a blown save by Papschmear. Let's see if Lee can keep it going tonight. :|

Why? Why are you investing emotional energy in this team? Save it and bottle it.

Trade value is now $1.98 plus a seventh-round pick in 2018.

This is one of the worst losses of a lousy year. This gang has less life than a frozen mortuary. 7th shutout of the year, and the "brilliant" center fielder botched two plays. :ohno:

Granted Worley did nothing for the Twins, but Revere is just not going to be a good player. His positives: His speed - it can get him some extra infield hits & he can cover a lot of ground in CF. His negatives: He has zero power, not just HR power, but extra base hits even look rare. His defense is below average, he misplays balls hot to him, doesn't always catch them & makes Johnny Damon look like he has a strong arm.
