Things have changed. In Owens day, there would have been many more death threats, many more school teachers saying he should be lynched, many more children saying Obama should be murdered and the news media would not have reported it as being unusual.

Today less people are involved in this type of behavior and this type of behavior is frowned upon by a larger number than in Owens day. There is less tolerance for this type of behavior, example Howard Cosell, Jimmy the Greek, Riley Cooper etc. Anybody public figure that says anything racists or acts racist loses their job or if they are a Democrat, get reprimanded.

Everything is now integrated, no separate schools, dorms, bathrooms, restaurants, Military units, etc. Back in Owens day, an African American football player for the University of Minnesota, had to sit out a game because they played a school that threatened to boycott the game. This would not happen today. There were no African American players in Major League Baseball in Owens day.

Things change, not as fast as we may want, but maybe as fast as humans can handle.

Klean didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. It's American History, something we can learn from.
As stated before you act as if racism was a problem in the south ask Jim Brown about his 4 yrs at Syracuse ask him about the many times they tried to remove him from the team by simple demotion. If the late Paul Robeson were alive he could tell you stories about his four yrs at Rutgers University in our home state of NJ.He had to deal with straight out racism just as Brown and Owens had the "pleasure" of dealing with.
These great people dealt with a lot more racism, North and South, than Obama ever did, but you keep saying things have not changed.

Trayvon caught a bullet because he was on top of a person while beating him.

Trayvon decided to handle things himself instead of calling the police.

Bullet earned.

Seriously, what a stupid fvck Trayvon was. Had a cell phone, but called a fat cow to talk crap about a "cracker" instead of calling the police.

Dude absorbed a bullet because he was an ignorant racist who wasn't as tough as he thought.

Wonder what Trayvon's last thoughts were?

"dal and klean steered me wrong and got me killed!"

I will continue to make that statement.Just because there are no lynchings doesn't mean everything has changed for the better.Talk about more racism no President has ever had his birth right bought into question before Obama why now????

Congrats, we've just discovered the most dense material on the planet: dalomite. Jimmy Walker can introduce the material at the next convention of geologists.

dal, you do understand that Trayvon had time to call up his ignorant, waste of space, friend to tell her he was being followed by a cracker, right? Do you recall that conversation? :suspicious: :dunce:

Did Travon call the police to tell them he was being followed by a cracker? Nope, Trayvon, instead, followed the playbook of a thug...and deservedly got wasted. Society is better off now that Trayvon is in the dirt. And you, dal, and people who think like you, are to blame for Trayvon's actions and his subsequent death.

Wear the guilt proudly. Man up, if you can. :thumb:

Another tidbit for the uninformed, Chester A Arthur, who became president in 1881 was attacked by the original "Birthers".

Me thinks you are just spouting off political spin with no facts. In other words you are trying to baffle us with your bull manure. I'm not going to continue to discuss this with a racist political hack.

CBS Link
Democrats claimed that Arthur, a Republican, wasn't born in Vermont as he maintained, but in Canada, which according to the Constitution made him ineligible for the Oval Office.

The charge was never proven, but even today there are those who say it's true.

Heather Darch says that Arthur was born in a modest house in the town of Bedford in French-speaking Canada, just 15 miles north of the U.S. border - a house that is up for sale.

"I think Americans could come up here and own a piece of Americana, very easily," she told Rocca. "I really do believe that Chester A. Arthur was America's first Canadian president!"

Hey "genius" according to his so-called waste of space friend they were talking on that fateful night maybe you forgot to watch something called THE EVENING NEWS!!!!Also his friend did a interview on tv (Politics Nation)and said that NOT ONCE did the police contact her about this homicide.Things that make you go hmmmmm?????Also "Sherlock Holmes" the original lead homicide detective was removed from the case by higher ups and had a narcotics detective put in his place another thing that makes you go hmmm????No he didn't call the police he had no reason to as stated before he was talking to his friend that the police never once tried to contact.Maybe if your trigger happy friend had followed instructions from the dispatcher Trayvon would be alive to have celebrated his 18th birthday.

Wait, you get your information from the evening news? :suspicious:

That explains a lot.  :dunce:

Trayvon's parents can put some flowers on his grave on his 18th birthday...and every subsequent birthday.

The rest of us will celebrate the death of a racist thug...he won't bother anyone anymore.

Every thread you start plays the race card. Honor people from all backgrounds, not just blackgrounds, or you are simply a racist schmuck.

And Corey Haim's corpse would still definitely beat Jesse's in a race down the river. Props to Corey. :notworthy:
