Yeah, but my guess is they'll forget about football and go D-I. If they add football, they'd probably have to stay D-II for awhile until they had the $$ to move up.

there was a rumor at that other place a while back about them moving to D-I and adding football. People got upset because I said they wouldn't hurt recruiting for Florida teams much because nobody recruits Pensacola very hard.Fresno St. Alum wrote:Yeah, but my guess is they'll forget about football and go D-I. Exactly, there is no doubt the Summit would like to see them go off and join the Big Sky. The Summit definitely wants to become more midwestern so I wouldn't be surprised to see Centenary leave sometime in the next decade as well.Mike Johnson wrote:Some would say it would be more ideal to lose Southern Utah. Oakland, IPFW, and IUPUI are at least fairly close to each other, with similar missions.

Maybe, a big maybe, would be if the Southland lost UTSA, Lamar or Texas St. to FBS and wanted a member, they could be an option. But you'd think the Southland would want a new football school to join, like Jax St.FargoBison wrote:Exactly, there is no doubt the Summit would like to see them go off and join the Big Sky. Centenary really does not have a place to go, and they are a great academic profile for the conferences, but a horrible athletic one. Quite the catch-22.
