If I remember correctly the fear was not that Saddam had or was anywhere near close to obtaining nukes but that he was continuing to develop chemical weapons. That fear was utterly wrong in hindsight and the people that should have known the truth played upon that fear to justify the invasion.

Oh my...
after being lied to by the Administration for a year they " submitted tacitly" as career moves...
but lets be serious (as you always seem to imply you are) nobody really believed it...

Israel had Iraq ranked as a threat level 2
to put that in perspective - Israel has the US as a 3

But you can believe whatever makes you feel better
- Big 10 Football - So boring Wisconsin is our most exciting team...
- Big 10 Football - Where 117th ranked Purdue is dominant...
- Big 10 Football - Where team speed and passing offense are not required...

That's how the rest of the world remembers it.

Saddam was still buying yellow-cake from Niger.

Maybe.

If the point of the sanctions was to deter Saddam's WMD program then:

a.) Saddam had WMP programs and the sanctions weren't stopping him.

or

b.) Saddam didn't have WMP programs, the sanctions worked and should have been lifted.

I only look pompous to the empty suits on the sidelines. When you shed the sophomoric BS and get into the arena, I don't appear nearly so intimidating, as you yourself have demonstrated with cogent posts on those rare occasions when you deign to elevate your brains a couple of feet back up to where they belong.

I don't like this kind of tit-for-tat BS, and you will always beat me at vacuous wit, but I have to let you win at something.

OK. You win. Now can you please get around to a meaningful post?
You look pompous because you somehow think we're required to be serious on this forum. We're not really solving the worlds problems here, lighten up. It's supposed to be fun.

That's less a factor of age than it is of income level. It happens when you find out that the 33% that you pay isn't enough and that you need to pay more to be paying your fair share while some other stiff that didn't bust his butt to get ahead and isn't making nearly as much coin is only paying 15%. :D

We have all been free our entire lives to donate up to 100% of what we make to charity.

Why the obsession with stealing from our neIghbor to finance our schemes?

Looks to me the federal government may be the most needy charity of all, maybe if we all were as charitable with our nation as we are with our superstitions there would not be nearly so much effort by the wealthiest individuals and biggest corporations to hide taxable income in every way imaginable, and our nation would not be in the mess it is in.

How 'bout kicking in about 10% of your gross as boot on top of your "truthful" tax return to show your appreciation for your security, roads, schools, and basic infrastructure and cut off those bloodsuckers that tell you they are going to take care of you after you are dead. 8-)

Or Pakistan.

Pakistan's intelligence service, ISI, helped build Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda in the 80's. They helped Al Qaeda build camps, helped trained them, sent Pakistani's to Afghanistan to train to fight India through terrorism. ISI is supsected of involvement in the bombings in India last year. They are also believed to have helped Osama and Al Qaeda escape Tora Bora and Afghanistan in 2001.

ISI did most of this on its own without any directive from the PM's of Pakistan. The government of Pakistan hasn't and won't control them. Osama bin Laden is likely in Pakistan under protection of ISI....

Why the F do we just ignore this and continually proclaim Pakistan to be our dear allies? :?

Really?

Do your kids go to a public school? The streets you take to get to your CEO job, are they all private roads? That cop that responds to a call and shows up at your house to dispose of a dead mouse you found in your garage - do just pay him out of pocket?
