Judging from the attendance, it wasn't enough to placate Nova, either.

And Wings lax doesn't count.
I used to have season tix to the Wings - Gary Gait, Tommy Marecheck, and Dallas Eliuk - although I did find it hard to root for Eliuk with that first name.

Frank Reich, Jeff Hostetler, Rex Grossman….
Kurt Warner. :coffee:
Great, we're up to 2 QB's who were backups in the past 20 years who have gone on to success in the NFL. And both so far have been HOF QB's. Certainly makes me want to reassess Mark Sanchez and whoever is taking snaps for the Cardinals these days. Could be future Canton material, for sure.

And you are still humorless. :kisswink:
GF and his brother take Philly pro sports far too seriously. Philadelphia sports teams haven't won an NBA title since '83 or a Stanley Cup since '75. They've never won a Super Bowl, and they've won only 2 National League World Series ever. So you learn to take the failures in stride, and the occasional successes as proof that God exists. :twocents:

Nice atheism troll there, eh?
Nonsense, I take it all in stride. I fully soaked in the Phil's Golden Era from '08 to '10 and enjoyed every minute of it, realizing that it wasn't likely to happen again in my lifetime. And I'm fully aware that there won't be a Green victory parade down Broad St in my lifetime either. It does build character, though, I've got that in spades! :thumb:

The Wings won a couple of titles. Don't forget the Phantoms won 2 as well. I might've been at a couple of those Wings & Phantoms title games...

The best thing with the Phantoms was they eked some more life out of The Spectrum. That was a great arena for hockey. Sad to see it get leveled, dingy red cloth seats and all.

Nearly 200,000 seats worth of torn down venues. Top to bottom: JFK, Spectrum, Vet for the non-Philly followers.

You said "you don't win with backup QB's in the NFL. :coffee:
You don't, unless you eek out that tiny percentage of backup QB's who flower into Hall of Famers and enter the discussion of the best QB's of all time. You named one guy and Vidav named another. That's two backup QB's in the past 15 years who have won, compared with the likely number of backup QB's during that same time (say 32 teams x 1 backup x 7.5 years for the sake of estimating - I was going to use 6.93 but I'm not smart enough to use that number). So that's 240 backup QB's in that time, and likely a lowball number. So those two guys came out to be 0.8%. So 99.2% of the time, and most likely more, you don't win with backup QB's in the NFL.

Nah, you still think the Cards going 3-4 with a backup after going 8-1 with a starter is "winning". You're imitation of Charlie Sheen in this manner is indeed humorous. See, you can be funny!

Ummm, you do realize Palmer missed 3 games earlier this season too, right?

The weakest of your arguments and you're sticking to it. Yup, the Cards don't need Palmer, he wouldn't make a difference.

The Cards won without Palmer. Your statement was "you don't win in the NFL with backups". Is it less likely? Yes. But you can win in the NFL with back ups. You can even go to the playoffs and win Superbowls...unless you're from Philly.

What about backups that used to be starters and even took their teams to multiple conference championships? :coffee:

Aw, you're still peeved that you're attempt at humor didn't come off right. It's cool, dude, comedians try out a lot of material that doesn't work before they find something that does. It's cool, we're all family here, we don't judge you.

Vegas disagrees with you - the betting line has the Panthers as 5 point favorites despite the Cardinals "winning" with backup QB's. You should text them and maybe reference Mr. Sheen.

While obviously true, the fact that they are a part of the Big 5 and are covered by the local media like a philly school, I would still say Nova qualifies on this list. :thumb:

Meanwhile, the Sixers win their first home game of the year, 95-92 over LeBron and Co. :notworthy

So James didn't play. Feh!
