Bitch, puhlease… I won't lose any sleep over his departure just like when Meyer, Nichols, BLM, Kaufmann, Edwards, and Herd were leaving. We'll be fine.
FCS should not be a farm system for FBS and this is not good for our subdivision. Oregon is like an NFL scout in this situation, making promises and talking the kid up so they can get him into fall camp and see if he MIGHT compete for a starting job. The fact we play Oregon next September adds to how wrong this is.
Swing and a miss.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
FCS should not be a farm system for FBS? Why not? What is best for the kid? Should high school football teams be farm systems for...uh...students...for FBS or FCS colleges? Should FCS schools be farm systems for the NFL, or should we tell our players that they won't be going to the pros because we have different standards?

Of should we tell a kid that he might have a better shot at the pros if he plays on a smaller FCS team for a couple years instead of competing against the best at FBS teams and having to subsequently sit on the bench for a couple years before showing off his stuff?
No one should be guaranteed a starting position...they should all compete for playing time. Adams, if he thinks he is good enough, should give it a shot if he wants to see how he measures up. Cripes, EWU people were saying he could start on most FBS teams, so now those same fans are saying Adams should stay at EWU because he won't win a starting position?

If he sits on the bench, it is because he isn't good enough...same with any other recruit anywhere. But at least he will have tried...just like any other kid who transfers to any other school...or any other kid coming out of high school to college.
The fact that Oregon is on the schedule has no bearing on the issue. None.
Maybe EWU shouldn't be so eager to play up in the future if they are worried one of their stars will be poached.
As for what is bad for FCS...everyone saw this kind of thing coming from a mile away once the Power 5 said they were going to offer scholarship + other expenses. The extra $3-5K per year will impact some of the transfers that used to come down...and it will certainly impact a few of the players who are on the borderline when getting recruited straight out of high school. Who will blame a kid for getting extra meal money, extra fluff money?
Blame the lawyers...blame the damned selfish kids for wanting more. How dare they!
