64-61 EWU win at home over Sac State. Crazy game, every time Hornets would get close EWU would just drop in a few 3 pointers with ease. Absolutely deadly from behind the arc. EWU had a huge lead (16 I think) with about 7 to play and the Hornets scrap back in it and get to within 2 late. Congrats EWU. :thumb:

Good game, Sac. Could've been better if we had Harvey. He'll be 100% for the tourny though.

Congrats EWU, good game. Hornets just got started too late and ran out of time. i would rather lose by 4 in Cheney than 13 like the Eagles did in Sac. Still a lot of games to be played, if the teams end up tied in the loss column the Hornets should have the tie breaker.

Why? Montana's likely to be the third place team—Sac finished 1-0 against them while EWU is currently 1-0 with a home contest left. The tiebreaker rules don't specify if 2-0 beats 1-0 for common games, but I'm guessing it does.

The bigger shocks tonight were the Sac women losing to EWU at home and the SUU & MSU men winning on the road. Weber's women now have a better record than their men.

 I thought Weebs would figure it out and have some solid play down the stretch. Wow.

And the Hornet women just need to stay healthy entering the BSCT. Last season they ran out of bodies.

EWU and Sac head to head results should have more of a impact than how many wins either had over the third place team. Like I said, a lot of basketball yet to be played. Who knows how it will work out?

Um… you do know there are actual, specific procedures to determine this, right? It's not something that comes down to a vote. :?

NAU 66-80 ISU; Chris Hansen becomes ISU's all-time 3-point leader as his team badly outshoots the 'Jacks
SUU 65-56 WEB; SUU ends their 20-game BSC road losing streak thanks to Weber shooting an awful 28%
MSU 90-87 UNC; Bobcats get their first road win in almost exactly one year
UMT 65-61 UND; Griz somehow win points-off-turnovers 25-4 despite only winning turnovers 14-12

I think GL is asking about if Sac, EWU, and UM all tie for first place (same overall BSC record). Say EWU and UM split, so you have head to head records of:
Sac: 2-1
EWU: 2-2
UM: 1-2
The rules are twerked because it’s no longer a full round robin. Obviously UM would be bumped to 3rd place, but who gets first? That link (and the BSC tie breaking rules) doesn’t indicate any updates with the new scheduling, did you even read the date of that post SE? So again, what are the tie break rules? Were they ever updated?

Like GL said, lots of hoops still to be played.

If Sac is 2-1, EWU 2-2, and UM 1-2, then it goes in that order. The fact that it's not a double round-robin for everyone doesn't change how head-to-head works.

My one question is on common games: is 2-0 considered to be better than 1-0 against the same common opponent (since it's the same percentage)?

Jois and Harvey have played healthy together a total of 4 games this season. Harvey took a ton of bad shots today. I think we're fine as long as Jois gets healthy.

What looked looked like a lousy night for the Griz after they blew a double-digit lead in Greeley turns into a great night as they win in triple OT while the top two teams both go down. :thumb:

Hornets went cold in the final 4 minutes of the Idaho game after tying it up. I was hoping for a split on what is IMO the toughest road trip in BSC play (in terms of competition). We need to defend home court this week and then find a way to get over our road woes for the final 3 games. :|

That's why I'm not holding out much hope for the Griz hosting the tournament, since they still have to do that trip. Maybe EWU will still be shorthanded…

The controversial foul was at the end of the third OT, setting up Gregory's winning FTs. Most message-board people (both UM & other fans) are misinterpreting the call: the refs didn't call Huskisson for the (light) frontal contact, they whistled Lee for fouling Gregory from behind.

The VOD on Big Sky TV shows both the original side angle and the baseline angle on the replay. From the baseline angle, you can see that Lee was being rather grabby and you can actually see him grab JG's elbow on the shot attempt. The original footage also shows that he probably got away with a reach-in just before the actual whistle, too. This whole sequence starts at about the 2:47 mark on the BSTV stream bar.

All of this would have been moot, of course, if NoCo had been able to get a defensive board at the end of the 2nd. OT. :coffee:
