Last year, a sick visit was a $20 copay.
Today, it's $90 co-insurance.

Of course they are happy. They now charge you each month AND make you reach an high deductible before they do a fucking thing. The ONLY way this could be a good idea is if at the end of the year, you were refunded money you didn't use. It's June and I'm using insurance for the first time. $400+ a month wasted. Fucking liberals. I seriously hope a republicans wins in 2016.Chizzang wrote:You'll notice that Insurance companies (some of the most profitable companies in the world)
Are NOT complaining about Obama Care - in fact they've never made so much money and done so little

I bet it's cheaper for me to Not be insured
Doubt it.D1B wrote:working great for me and everyone I know.

Meanwhile, I had to ask how much the visit would be if I had no insurance: $30.
I may vote GOP next year

Seriously, i can't imagine how many more family's now have to consider and weight the options of saving money/paying bills or going to the doctor. Our country is so fucked.Chizzang wrote:Ibanez wrote:

The Affordable Care Act may still get repealed
There is enough traction from employed people who vote to get a look see
Nope, and you know it.CID1990 wrote:thats because you and everyone you know qualify for all the subsidiesD1B wrote:working great for me and everyone I know.
Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on this one too.Ibanez wrote:Fuck you.Skjellyfetti wrote:
That's just the doctors visit, that doesn't include the costs of tests.

Agreed - if the doctor had a cash price of $30, but charged you $90 co-pay, that is an out-right lie on the doctor's part.Ibanez wrote:Fuck you.Skjellyfetti wrote:

Do you get insurance through work? A lot of companies are using the cover of ACA to cut back their expense, and then blame their cheapness on the ACA, when in fact THEY are pocketing the money.

You realize it's a dumb fucking comparison then, right?Ibanez wrote:Fuck you.Skjellyfetti wrote:

No. have you considered that people have different experiences and this is one thing the democrats have royally fucked up?D1B wrote:Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on this one too.Ibanez wrote: Fuck you.

Iba, have you ever considered you just might be an idiot and got the wrong insurance or provider?
I thought it sounded weird as well. I told a co-worker, who goes to a different pediatrician and she was told that the cash amount was way less than the co-insurance part.dbackjon wrote:Agreed - if the doctor had a cash price of $30, but charged you $90 co-pay, that is an out-right lie on the doctor's part.Ibanez wrote: Fuck you.

Maybe i'm not presenting the situation correctly.Skjellyfetti wrote:You realize it's a dumb fucking comparison then, right?Ibanez wrote: Fuck you.

That makes zero sense. I am not doubting you, just doesn't make logical senseIbanez wrote:Maybe i'm not presenting the situation correctly.Skjellyfetti wrote:

Billing: The office visit is $100 plus whatever tests the doctor has to run.
Me: How much would the office visit be if I had no insurance?
Billing: $30.
Me: Seriously. Can we forget that I have insurance?
Billing: I'm sorry sir, we aren't allowed to do that.
It makes zero sense. Either I had a stroke on the phone or that lady is screwing with me.dbackjon wrote:That makes zero sense. I am not doubting you, just doesn't make logical senseIbanez wrote:
