That's how I judge the % of MAGAts around here.....their love of lifted trucks with loud exhausts & monster tires knows no bounds. They love to be seen and heard....I fucking hate them.

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
It isn't OK but provocateurs have been a part of riots since the first riot was held. The far left, far right, and cops are all doing it SD - look at the vids on-line, its white person after white person smashing windows and provoking violence - the antifas and the accelerationists for obvious reasons and the cops because they much prefer the narrative to be about rioting and looters rather than a torture/snuff film featuring a cop that always seems to be around shootings of people that aren't white.SDHornet wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 2:09 pmChauvin and those other cops need to be thrown in jail for a very long time at the very least. Not sure how any of that means rioting and looting is okay though. Why the left is embracing the idea that those two stances are mutually exclusive is absurd.houndawg wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 1:52 pm
I don't either and I don't see how you read that in. Officer Chauvin was the only one with a plan and it wasn't about riots, it was about snuffing a handcuffed suspect in the middle of the street in broad daylight while his buddies helped. But hey what is that compared to property damage?

I see...well actually I DON'T see... Trump being a leader and trying to quell the violence. Where is he? Why hasn't he come out on TV and spoken to the country? Why hasn't he lifted a finger to settle everything down? He's not a leader. He's just a guy with a bunch of sycophants.

You sound like Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon. Think this through. Whatever he comes out and says will be twisted and destroyed by the media. And the people doing the damage won't listen anyway. That's your excuse for the complete absence of leadership? I have thought this through. He needs to come out and say something. Even Obama had the integrity to speak to the nation even when he knew there was a large part of the country was going to ignore or not care. It's a sign of leadership. Ibanez is 100% right here. He’s a giant pussy and clearly not a leader. This is one of those moments where leadership is required immediately.

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Like I was saying.
https://theweek.com/speedreads/917390/w ... d-protestsThe White House on Sunday declared a lid, which means no one should expect to see or hear from the president for the rest of the day, and ABC News reports there's a growing divide within the Trump administration about how Trump should respond to the situation. Some of his advisers, including his son-in-law Jared Kushner, don't think there's any political benefit to Trump addressing the nation from the Oval Office since the few times he's done so haven't turned out so great, ABC News reports. But others, like White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, believe it's a chance for Trump to show that he's a strong leader and a unifier in a fashion similar to former President George H.W. Bush during the 1992 Rodney King riots in Los Angeles

2) Republicans will praise his leadership
3) Democrats will say it's not enough, tone deaf, too late, etc..
4) People rioting and looting won't hear it
But that isn't the point. The point is that you were elected to lead. If every speech was qualified by whether or not it'd be heard or well received then hardly any presidents will give addresses. Trump has nothing to lose if he comes out and gives a measured, heartfelt response. Well, it's too late now. He should've done it days ago.

It's not an excuse. I think every POTUS should address the nation at a time like this.
