NY Times: This much media coverage of the Russian invasion of Ukraine is racist, because Ukranians are white.

I'd be pretty skeptical of that twitter account.
45k Ukrainian troops surrounded would mean Zelenskyy turning himself over for denazification.

Yeah I have no idea how any of this info is vetted. I do question why we aren't seeing high def vids of fire fights, battles, etc. Unless maybe they are on other feeds I don't get.Skjellyfetti wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 5:45 pmI'd be pretty skeptical of that twitter account.

Here is another account by some foreign policy analyst. Apparently there is a armor column 800 vehicles deep rolling on Kyiv, and he thinks anywhere from half to a third of the troops from the Russian buildup yet to engage.
Good stuff on the talk of ousting Putin (if Ukraine holds on) making the situation with Russia much more volatile.

I don't recall Trump making Ukraine joining NATO part of his platform...after all, the Biden admins goal of getting Ukraine into NATO played a large part in this Russian invasion, no?

Kinda weird how he also cites that sketchy @miladvisor twitter account in his thread.

Re: The Ukraine Crisis
The first impeachment was literally because of Trump abusing his power and withholding 400 million from Ukraine. He also tried to extort Zelensky, threatened to pull the US out of NATO, and has now praised Putin twice since the conflict started; the man is definitely a Russian asset, whether he understands it or not. I wonder how much the sanctions are going to hurt Trump too.

Anyway, Putin certainly united the West in no way I've seen in my lifetime. It's wishful thinking, but I hope the sanctions and Ukrainians put enough hurt that his Presidency falls. The ordinary people of Russia certainly deserve better.
Or maybe by next week we're rebuilding civilization.

I'm hoping Ukraine can pull one out of the hat and hold of Russia, but I'm not holding my breath on this. If the theory that Russia has been using the "B Team" so far hold any truth, then this can get even more ugly real quick.
Re: The Ukraine Crisis
The US lead the charge to remove Russia from SWIFT after other nations were hesitant. We've also lead the charge on other sanctions, continue to supply the Ukraine with monetary aid, we're supplying the EU with financial aid which they're turning around and sending to Ukraine as military aid, we're sending troops to protect the eastern flank of NATO, sent people to help at the border, and we're opening the US to refugees.SDHornet wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 8:03 pmOh look, more deflection from Bidens failure in Ukraine.∞∞∞ wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 7:47 pm

What else is there to do? Do you want to go to war with Russia?

Re: The Ukraine Crisis
No we shouldn't go to war with Russia, but it looks like that ship has sailed. Biden's foreign policy wonks that were responsible for Crimea getting eaten in 2014 implemented the same policy failures (by the same people) that have resulted in the rest of Ukraine getting eaten. But yeah those battle hardened NATO countries are really going to stop Putin...and let's keep throwing away more money on this.∞∞∞ wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 8:14 pmThe US lead the charge to remove Russia from SWIFT after other nations were hesitant. Regarding sanctions, have they sanctioned Russian oil yet? Or they waiting for all of Ukraine to fall before they make that move?

I mean they already told Biden to pound sand regarding pumping more oil, so why not stick it to him again.
