I wasn't for "cancelling David". I was for respecting parents' rights and debating the appropriate age. I would be fine with my kids seeing that sculpture.

Parents shouldn't decide the art history curriculum. If they don't want their kids to take art history - that's fine. Don't think it's a required class. But, an art history class might have depictions of a penis, or Jesus suckling from Mary's teat, or Mary not entirely enjoying motherhood. Because a lot of great art depicts these things.

It's amazing that a lot of us are more prude than the 16th century.

I can disagree with a prude but respect their right to their opinions and beliefs.

Why is it pretty fucking ironic that I'm posting it? I know that I could be wrong and I'm not afraid to post things that I find interesting, informative, funny, or more importantly in this context might contradict an earlier post or position. I try to listen, learn and grow. You should try it sometime.

If any Representative or Senator breaks their chambers rules, they should face the exact same thing the three Democrats in Tennessee faced. You get tried by the rules on the books and if found guilty (which two of them were), it is the door for you.

The GOP in Tennessee is just a crap show at this moment. I get it that you can't really tolerate members of the legislature pulling out a bullhorn and protesting on the assembly's floor. But at the same time, how do you manage to expel just the black guys and not the white woman when they did the same thing? How they couldn't see that outcome as problematic, at a minimum, is just another example of how politics just sucks right now in America. The GOP should be mortified at the outcome in Tennessee but I suspect they really don't give a damn either. Wonderful for the rest of us.

Agree the optics are horrible but Johnson didn't play much of a roll in the disruption so I thought that it was fair that she did not have the same actions as her two colleges.

A great point of discussion is whether or not they should have censured the three instead of expulsion. I think they should have based on this being their first offense.

The Democrats in the chamber during the review did themselves no favors either by trying to turn the proceedings into a circus.
