Dems starting abandoning the working class long ago. These chickens are coming home to roost in the form of a thriving economy on paper (see investor class, GDP, stock market) but not when it comes to cost of living and consumer spending.
“My portfolio is doing great!”
“I can barely afford eggs and bacon.”
The Dem establishment (the ones securing large dollar donations, calling the policy shots, and selecting candidates to support in primaries) is considered elitist. Right wing media (Fox, Iheartradio, podcasts, Sinclair) has effectively pushed this narrative and the Dems have done little to fight back against this image. Taylor Swift and Springsteen are nice stories but not enough to seriously move the needle.
Too many in the working class are still willing to believe that the prospects of high tariffs, tax cuts for the rich and corporations, massive deportation, and deregulation of everything from finance to public health to domestic oil production will magically trickle down eventually without negative effects to standard of living.
Neither establishment has answers for the working class. The R’s are just better selling their bullshit right now.
Nope what? They’re not nice stories, or you agree they didn’t have much impact?Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 6:10 amkalm wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:04 am

Not my data, dummy. There’s 40 years of data to disprove neo-liberalism. Find a book or a non-biased article on economics or both and report back to me.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 10:18 amyou have a reputation for being biased and another 5 letter word that starts with a w
